Title: Acoustic feedback loop in inclined impinging jets

Description: 1,000,000 frame per second schlieren video depicting acoustic waves (dark) perturbing the underexpanded jet's shear layer, causing instability waves to grow and travel downstream. These waves impact the impingement plate, creating coherent pressure fluctuations which are just more acoustic waves. These newly-formed waves travel outside the jet boundary toward the nozzle once again, thus closing the feedback loop.
