Title: Soap Boat

Description: When you place detergent in contact with water, the surface tension of the water is reduced in that location. If the drop of detergent was placed in the center of the empty bowl, the drop causes the surface tension of the water in the center would decrease and the water would pull away from the center in all directions. Since the detergent is confined to the cavity of the boat with only one way out, the result is a jet from the rear end of the boat that drives the boat across the water.
